My Story

Every story has a beginning and an end. Every life born on this earth has a day and a night. Growing up in South Wales in a family of 8, I can only describe it as an excellent childhood. Days of being loved. But the nights were a different world entirely.

Nightmares were always there — I don't recall a night without them. I was forever sneaking into my mother's bed, knowing every evening what was coming. The night terrors never surprised me. They were simply part of life after dark. There was no rest. Just the waiting, and then the fear.

My father was a hobby woodworker, not professionally but he was exceptional at it. When I was little, he made me shelves for above my bed, always with a pull switch light fitted to them, so that if I woke up I could reach up in the dark and turn it on. He often whistled me to sleep. Looking back, I know now he just wanted to keep me safe in the dark.

Years went by. I raised two daughters on my own and built a business. Life was full — but the nights would still be just as sadly merciless. During that time, my daughters gave me a wooden butterfly — blue and beautiful. I loved it, and hung it by my bed. I will always vividly recall the day I sat there, looking at it — and realising the nightmares had stopped. After nearly 40 years, they had. Just like that.

That butterfly — what it had seemingly done, and how it had changed my whole life — became the beginning of the Dream Catchers Collection.

'Protection. Safe in the dark.'

If you know what it is to dread the night — these were made for you.

Collection 1 is available now. Collection 2 is coming soon.
